Yes, Facebook silently introduced posting GIF's without uploading your GIF's to any other giphy tools rather you can post it directly in facebook . It's available for only desktop versions now & for mobiles soon it will update this feature!
When you post GIF's Directly in your facebook it consider as video post as obviously GIF's don't have sound effect!
