Narendra Modi’s first invitee Ivanka Trump to visit India for Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in November which is going to be held in India for the first time at Hyderabad.
Over the last month-and-a-half, the finer details have been worked out between New Delhi, Washington and Hyderabad. Sources said while Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru were among the options, Hyderabad was chosen as the venue because of its international clientele and infrastructure for hosting large conferences.
The Centre has designated NITI Aayog as the nodal agency to organise the event, in coordination with Ministry of External Affairs and Andhra Pradesh government. Sources at the Prime Minister’s Office said NITI Aayog has been asked to make it a mega event, since the summit is being held in India for the first time. (Source: indianexpress )
Sources said that diplomatically, it will be a significant event, since New Delhi raised the issue of H1B visas, in an oblique manner, in the India-US joint statement in June.
