Badminton superstar and silver medalist in
Rio Olympics PV Sindhu on Wednesday took charge as the deputy collector in
Andhra Pradesh government.
Sindhu, who had been handed over the letter
of appointment on July 27threported to Chief Commissioner of Land
Administration (CCLA) at Gollapudi on
outskirts of Vijayawada and reported to
Special Chief secretary Anil Chandra Punetha. Later, she formally assumed
her new role as a group -1 service officer. She was then posted to Krishna
District for training.
Sindhu expressed her happiness over the
appointment and said that her first priority would be sport only. She had also
thanked the Chief Ministerfor the job.
The badminton star should execute a Bond
stating that she would serve the government for a period of 3years after the
completion of training. She will be on
probation for a period of 2years on duty within a continuous period of
3years. She will have to pass the
mandatory tests conducted by the government under relevant rules.
If Sindhu follows the norms and procedures
of Andhra Pradesh government, she would be eligible for the conferment of
Indian Administrative Service cadre by the Union Public Service Commission
within 9years.
